19:30 - Portishead Methodist Church

Long Ashton Orchestra returns to Portishead Methodist Church, under our new conductor Chris Holley.  This is a dramatic programme of music, with a selection of some very contrasting pieces in the first half of the concert – from Beethoven to a contemporary piece by Campkin.

The second half of the concert is devoted to the beautiful, melodic Schubert’s Fourth Symphony.  It has been nicknamed ‘The Tragic’, but be assured: you will leave the concert with a sense of harmony and hope.

Seats are free for this concert, and all are welcome.  There will be a retiring collection for the charity ‘Christians Against Poverty’, a very important cause at this time. Do come and support the charity and the orchestra on May 25th.
